2023 New Student Orientation Volunteer Form

Thank you very much for your interest in serving as a volunteer for this year's 2023 New Student Orientation. In-Person Orientation Sessions will take place from Monday, August 14 - Friday, August 18. Training dates will be schedules based on volunteers availabilities.

This year, the RSPH Student Engagement Team and the RSPH Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team are recruiting for rising second-years to serve as volunteers in the following capacities.

Orientation Group Leader
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ambassador
Rollins-Teer Site Leader

Please note:

Volunteers are able to sign up to be an Orientation Group Leader. Being an Orientation Group Leader means you are also required to be a Rollins-Teer Site Leader.
Volunteers are able to sign up to be a DEI Ambassador & Rollins-Teer Site Leader
Volunteers are able to sign up to be only a Rollins-Teer Site Leader
Volunteers are unable to sign up to be an Orientation Group Leader & DEI Ambassador

Orientation Group Leader (Returning Students Only)

Description:

Orientation Group Leaders are responsible for welcoming our incoming students and leading an interdepartmental orientation group. Two orientation group leaders will be assigned to a group of 22-24 first-year students. Orientation Group Sessions will take place from Monday, August 14 - Thursday, August 17 from 1:00 - 5:00PM. 30-40 Orientation Group Leaders will be trained to conduct the following with their first-year students:

Icebreakers / Introduction Games
Rollins / Emory University Tour
Q&A with Second Years

Requirements:

Attend an in-person Orientation Group Leader Training in August (Date will be based on second-year student availability)
Must be available to lead at least one Orientation Group (A four hour time commitment)
Accompany a service group on Rollinsteer Day, August 18, 2023 from 7:00AM -1:00PM EDT.
