Thank you very much for your interest in serving as a volunteer for this year's 2022 New Student Orientation. In-Person Orientation Sessions will take place from Monday, August 15 - Friday, August 19.
This year, the RSPH Student Engagement Team and the RSPH Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team are recruiting for rising second-years to serve as volunteers in the following capacities.

Orientation Group Leader (Returning Students Only)
Description:
Orientation Group Leaders are responsible for welcoming our incoming students and leading an interdepartmental orientation group. Two orientation group leaders will be assigned to a group of 22-24 first-year students. Orientation Group Sessions will take place from Monday, August 15 - Friday, August 18 from 1:00 - 5:00PM. 30-40 Orientation Group Leaders will be trained to conduct the following with their first-year students:
Icebreakers / Introduction Games
Rollins / Emory University Tour
Q&A with Second Years
Requirements:
Attend an in-person Orientation Group Leader Training in August (Date will be based on second-year student availability)
Must be available to lead at least one Orientation Group (A four hour time commitment)

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ambassador (Returning Students Only)
Description:
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Ambassadors will work collaboratively with the RSPH Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team (Dr. Joanne McGriff, Assistant Dean for DEI and Veronica Gilliard, PhD, MPHc) to lead the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Discussion for interdepartmental Orientation Groups, which will take place from Monday, August 15 - Thursday, August 18. Dates will be confirmed based on second-year student availability.
16 DEI Ambassadors will undergo an extensive training about how to lead conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusion. Two DEI Ambassadors will lead conversations for each Orientation Group.
Requirements:
Must attend DEI Ambassador Training
Must be available to lead one conversation from Monday, August 15 - Thursday, August 18 from 3:15 - 4:15PM EDT
for all four days
(A four hour time commitment)

Rollins-Teer Site Leader (Returning Students, Staff, & Faculty)
Description:
Rollins-Teer Site Leaders are rising second-years, faculty, and staff that lead a group of first-year students in doing service projects for various community partners during Rollins-Teer Day.
During Rollins-Teer Day, there will be two site leaders assigned to each project. Transportation to and from RSPH will be provided. Up to 140 Rollins-Teer Site Leaders will also be trained about how to lead a Rollins-Teer Site.
Requirements:
Work with the Orientation Team to sign up for a community partner in July (a list will be provided)
Participate in Rollins-Teer Site Leader Training in the beginning of August (date will be based on volunteer availability)
Must be available on Friday, August 19, 2021 from 7:00AM - 1:00PM (A six hour time commitment)
